Mods for the Fender 57’ Tweed Deluxe RI Amps

Fender 57’ Tweed Deluxe is one their best RI amps. It’s well built and has good parts, but it still seems to fall short of the original 50’s amps and the 5E3 amps build here at Carl’s Custom Amps. The amp sound stiffer and has less definition than it should have. Also, the power tubes have a short life in the amp. Fortunately, some gentle mods can put all of this right giving you all the tone you want! The amp will have better touch sensitivity, definition, and feel and sound more alive.

We offer the basic mods for $215. They include changing some caps, resistors, a pre-amp tube and the rectifier tube. With some version of the model, we will recommend replacing the speaker with Weber Alnico to capture the tone and breakup that the stiffer speakers some models have don’t have.

For players wanting to improve the looks and durability of their amp we can add additional coats of nitro lacquer. Fender only put a thin color coat on the tweed.
