Description:
The California 22W and 50W amps are exceptional clean amps that sound amazing on their own but are also act as ideal pedal platforms adding texture, touch sensitivity, and depth to whatever you put through them. They based on the timeless 60’s Fender Blackface series amps. Light weight and compact the heads are easy to carry from gig to gig and allow the player to have a modular system using whichever cab or cabs suit their gig.
The California has a full EQ, bright switch, and highly useful master volume. The master can be bypassed. It allows the player to pick how their pedals overdrive the pre-amp so you overdrive multiple stages at low volume rather than just the first stage if you are playing at low volumes. Optionally an all-tube parallel FX loop can be added. Pedal work just as well through the front of the amp but sound different in both positions giving the player lots of options.
As with all our amps the California is hand wired with premium parts and expertly engineered for tone!

Customer Comments:
“Carl,
The California 22 is really special. I see that I could have another speaker cabinet built and use it by adjusting the Ohm settings. Cool. Someday maybe a 2 x 10 with two different 10” speakers. Yummy. How does the bias adjustment work? I assume that allows me to swap tubes. Power tubes or preamp tubes?
Two very nice variables on the front panel are Master volume and Drive. If I understand correctly, the Master increases power to the power tubes increasing loudness. The Drive knob increases preamp power. The distortion that is achieved as I vary the Drive knob is very rich.
The level of nuance and subtlety achievable with this amp is incredible. I’m really lucky to own and play with this artistic device. Thank you again.”
